    Hi

I painted my bathroom in silk emulsion, and I noticed after a couple of days you could peel huge strips of it off. I then remembered the original paint on the wall was a bathroom paint. Is it the bathroom paint that is stopping the new paint from adhering, if so how do I solve the problem. I have removed all the new emulsion with a heat gun and am back to the original bathroom paint, does it need priming with something. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

It could well be an adhering issue. Give it a coat of matt emulsion (id use supermatt but any matt will do) and then coat again in silk.

Give the wall a good wash with sugar soap first to clean the surface.

Best to continue to use a bathroom paint or eggshell if you want it it last.
