    Hi Guys,

I have taken my old units down and on top of one of them was a double cable spur from an existing socket to a double socket which was on top of the unit.
It wasn't bedded in or anything. just came out of the plaster and up along the old cupboard.

Can I divide these cables to make 2 separate single sockets as I need one for lighting and one for plinth heater
If so, where would you suggest I install new sockets.
ie, under the worktop for the plinth heater somewhere, and maybe on top of unit for lighting?

Sounds like they may have extended the ring final circuit to that double socket in which case no you cannot split it and put a single socket on each unless you downgrade the fuse for that rfc-not recommended.
