I've inherited a rather old Yamaha Clavinova CLP-650 keyboard. Unfortunately, it seems that over the years some of the screws have gone missing as the thing was transported. I've uploaded pictures of the two screw types I'm missing some of: I'm missing 1 of the longer screws, described in the manual as "Long screws (gold)", and 3 of the shorter screws, described in the manual as "Short screws (black)". Any idea whether I could get some replacements?
Look like fairly common M6 bolts in terms of thread size and length. Look on Ebay for some, the actual head my be slightly different but that shouldn't matter. If they are just replace them all for new ones.
Yes, so you have an M6 x 75mm Pan Head and an M5 x 19mm Pan Head, as Phil the Paver advised...........ebay
Pan head screws are sized to the inside of the heaf, so measure that way. The long one looks like a cross dowel bolt, the short just a standard machine screw.
They are M6, local engineer merchant should stock them. They did use cross dowel bolts on some the stand for that organ.
If I went to my local Screwfix and presented them with these screws, would they be able to match them up with equivalent new ones?
It's tricky for me to tell whether the black one is an M6 or an M5. It kind of looks closer to 5mm but it's tough to tell as it's so small. That's why I was hoping Screwfix could help me.
Can you not measure across the threads? If you haven't got a Vernier/caliper, hold 2 threads between 2 pieces of straight wood, and measure the gap.
I have a ruler. And the black one looks like 5mm, the other one looks like 6mm. But it's such a small difference my eyes could be playing tricks.
