Rather you than me. I cycled from samoens to cluses once. On a mtb, great on the way there, near on killed me on my walk back up the hill. Nearly killed myself coming down from samoens 1600m on the mtb again. Given it up.
Looks like this thread will be about extolling the benifits of taking a foreign holiday, my preference is North Devon been going there for two weeks every year for the last ten, in the same hotel bed breakfast and evening meal, cream teas in the day, bring it on

Lynton/Lynmouth DA, beautiful area for walks either coastal or inland, found it by accident when we were staying at Woolacoome about 10 years ago, I don't do sun sea or sand and hate flying luckily my dragon is similar so off to Devon we go, only flown about half a dozen times in my life and I am in my mid sixties, went to Majorca once and hated it to hot, bin to Nice and loved it.problem is once we get there I spend half the holiday worrying about the flight home!
