    Hi

Can't seem to find 75mm truss clips anywhere... Only hangers. Any idea where I'd get them? I'm using 75x200 timber which will sit on top of double top plates, for a outbuilding with a 5m span.

    Cheers

As far as I'm aware you cant get them, can't you use a 75mm joist hanger upside down to anchor the joist.

Truss clips only in 50mm width, never seen a 75mm.

The high wind ties look the best bet - thanks.

Thinking about it, I'm wondering how important using any steel is?

In the old days, it was toe nailing roof rafters, none of these fancy clips.:)

I was going to suggest a 4" galvanized nail. :)

Use to drive in two 4" nails either side of the rafter many years ago.

Thanks fellas, 4" nails it is. My garden outhouse studio project doesn't hit the scope for building regs so I have a little flexibility; but obviously dont want to take any risks with safety.
