Advice on a boiler that exploded with water!

    And if she does indeed have to fork out for a new boiler, more's the better muhaha! Serves you right for using unqualified tradesmen...

    That's great news BB. there is still the mystery over what actually happened to this boiler. I think the crucial point you made was the the LL's plumber did something the the boiler a week before. to my, mind that's the key to the mystery. It could be a consiparacy to fleece you - I wonder if the plumber locked down the PRV in some way and arranged for the filling loop to trickle water in. The experts here might know this. Well done!

    I don't think its a consiparacy, my theory is the plumber had done work previously and a fitting blew on the heating side, this would explain the flood and it stopped when the heating drained off, then he came to fix it and concocked a story to take the blame off himself,
