Anyone heard of this? Half the price of Karndean, and twice as nice. Seriously, sis in law chust called in with a sample from each co, and the Allura knocked the Karn into next week. Both were 'raw timber' type finishes, and the Karn was nice enough - lovely variation in pattern, and a nice textured grain throughout. BUT, the Allura was something else; the texture of the surface actually matched the wood grain pattern - the smoother bits were smoother, and the really rough, rough. Beautiful stuff. And the sample she had - Natural Raw Timber - resembled timber that had chust been sawn through in t'mill with a giant bandsaw. Along the surface of the 'planks' the pattern included the straight sideways-cut parallel ridge lines from the bandsaw's blade. And, when I ran my fingernails up the plank, these ridges were actually in the texture too. The Karndean, on t'other hand, had a wider variation of wood pattern - it included images of the gnarled bits of 'end grain' and 'knots' and stuff, but the actual texture remained the same even lengthways ridges throughout. No comparison. At all. Anyone used the stuff?
Wow, thanks folks - clearly it's a well-known product... OOokkkaaayyyy - LISTEN UP. Sis managed to get a large-sized sample of her fav choices of Allura - Natural Raw Oak being amongst them. It is truly, genuinely, no-bull, 100%, regular, diamond, straight-up, bona-fide fan-tab-alllll-oooby stuff. It kicks Karndean it the botty. Really. Truly. It looks AMAZING. Phenomenal texture. Super-realistic. Tough as a tough thing in a tough place. And half the price (or better...) than that over-priced, living-on-its-name, Karnevil. If you are a floor covering fitter, do yersel a giant favour and check it out. Your customers will want to have your babies. And will want them made on that floor...
Will do. It'll be Jan before it's put down, as that wall and a stove will need doing before then. But I think you will be amazed...
