Pipework in bedroom was doing my head in:)
Ch pipe runs from loft and drops down on bedroom wall and along skirting level.

Decided to change this while I was going to decorate.

Old pipe work was re-used. Two small offsets created with pipe bender.

Half-cross over piece used. Wasn't quite confident in creating this in one bed on the length of pipe.

Old 'T' fitting heated and removed, a coupler replaced this.

Type A drain point fitted. Had a problem trying to solder the pipe so had to cut it and put in another coupler

Will get pictures after it is painted :)

I prefer to make up drain cock with tee & medium tails & solder on bench, then cut it into exsisting pipework & solder in place, using a damp rag around draincock to prevent heat transfer.

  3. You could make up your own skirting using lengths of 6mm (possibly 4mm) MDF, around - ooh - 130mm high?

Pack out the existing skirting until it is slightly proud of the pipe clips, and add a similar-thickness rail above the pipes.

Then glue the MDF lengths to both. Top with an Ogee moulding or similar.

Don't mean to criticise jit, as usual, you've done a lovely job and clearly take pride in all you do...... but .....

After moving pipes to corner of wall, could you have then gone under floor and brought rad tails up to meet rad valves. Obviously depending on which way joist are running, may be more work getting pipes through joists but, there's always a way

Could then box in corner pipes, paint as wall colour and they 'almost' dissapear

Just an thought but, as ever, a nice tidy job and a good informative thread

Forgot to mention its a first floor flat and the floor is all concrete :(

Original pipework I believe was microbe and was run in the floor.

Definitely an improvement from first pictures, there is about 3 meters less pipe visible on the wall.

Roof is very shallow, so good job I am small and was able to get right upto the eaves to run the pipework :D

Fair play then mate, I hadn't considered concrete floors otherwise I'm sure you would have had the floorboards up !

Agreed an improvement for sure :)
