Hi, Putting a wet room in and have taken down the old tiles and plasterboard. Was going to use 12mm aqua panel but doesn't seem to be in stock any where near me, Wickes have loads of tile backing panels available, just wondering if these are any good or is there a reason theres so much available
Hi Oggy, simply for advice, Did a shower last year and used Wickes Aquapanel but they have stopped doing now - I got the last stock. Not sure about total saturation wet room applications though. The alternative could be Hardibacker (spelling?) - another cement board. Be careful cutting it. Use plasterboard scoring and breaking technique as much as much as poss as the fibres apparently do have some nasty properties is you go mad with the circular saw!!! - check their wesite. best of luck B
Hardiebacker board, great board, some useful video's on their site for cutting it. http://www.jameshardie.co.uk/hardiebacker-12mm-cement-board There also Marmox waterproof insulation board, but it's more expensive I alway get my board from Insulation Express, just easier for me, they have a lot of branches around the UK. http://www.insulationexpress.co.uk/Dry-Lining/Tile-Backer-Board.htm
