Seeing the post about Artex made me think what building ideas were really bad ones here are 10 to start you off.

    Artex

    Stone cladding

    Sprayed under roof insulation

Tiled wooden floors (with pipes and electrics below)

    AIB

    Macerators

    Louvre windows

    Close coupled toilet bolts

Those horrible electrical Earth clamp straps

    Old Distemper

Feel free to add sure there are many more!

Got to agree Teabreak with that list, with exception of Sprayed under roof insulation, it has it uses for other things.

Junction boxes with fiddly brass screws.

Polystyrene bead wall insulation. Last year I was fitting an extractor fan in a kitchen re-vamp. Got through the inner block work wall.... You can guess the rest..:oops:

Years ago opened up a large fireplace for friend, knocked out a block & the stuff poured out & continued to pour out for ages, end up with the whole room about 3' deep in the stuff. A nightmare to clear up, took hours.

Trying to pull up a cable through joist next to brick for plug sockets - cable > 50mm from top and approx 20mm gap between brickwork and joist.
