I'm 32, have a young family and I'm looking to change career. I want to go back to college and get trained up as a plumber. I have a full time job so any training will have to be evenings and weekends initially. I have some part time / weekend work as a plumbers mate lined up. The long term aim is to eventually become a gas safe plumber.

What are the minimum qualification requirements / best route to become a plumber, apart form the obvious experience that will be required?

Work for the best company in your location to learn from the best. When you feel ready you can move on with your own work. BEst way to start is to learn from the best.
