best paint for wooden kitchen shelves

    not too keen on high gloss but want easily wipeable shelves. they have been made out of thick ply. Satin or oil based eggshell, to prime and or undercoat? any advice greatly appreciated!

    Eggshell would be the best, Dulux Diamond Eggshell is a good one although an acrylic it is 10 x tougher than similar paints. Prime with Dulux acrylic primer / undercoat.
    Has the edge of the ply been finished with a beading of some kind as this would make painting easier.
