Hi all, i have a property with cracks following some of the joint lines in the plaster board ceiling. the cracks are less than a 1/4 inch wide Before i repaint with emmulsion can any one advise on the best joint filler to use either tube applied or tub mixed Thanks for any advice based on previous experiance
You need to find out why the joints have cracked that much. Sometimes you can get a hairline crack where someone hasn't taped the joint. I would get someone to walk on the floor above and watch for any movement. Fixing movement in ceilings / floors isn't easy but unless you fix it, the cracks will reappear. To fix the cracks you need to remove any lose filler, fix jointing tape / scrim then cover with a good quality filler like Easyfill / Jointing filler and sand smooth.
