Hi all, i have a property with cracks following some of the joint lines in the plaster board ceiling. the cracks are less than a 1/4 inch wide

You need to find out why the joints have cracked that much. Sometimes you can get a hairline crack where someone hasn't taped the joint.

I would get someone to walk on the floor above and watch for any movement. Fixing movement in ceilings / floors isn't easy but unless you fix it, the cracks will reappear.

To fix the cracks you need to remove any lose filler, fix jointing tape / scrim then cover with a good quality filler like Easyfill / Jointing filler and sand smooth.
