Hi there, We are just about to have some cedar decking installed from the Silva products range. Does anyone have any recommendations on what weather proofing treatment to use that doesn't affect the colour of the timber too much or leave a glossy look?
I don know if they still do it but Silva used to do a coating intended for unseasoned cedar, colourless and designed to protect the wood for 18 ish months until it has properly seasoned - if you don't treat it again it tends to weather beautifully all on it's own - it's a shame to hide such a lovely wood under a coat of something man made
