I've had to pull the skirting board slightly from the wall to do a job and now I need to attach it back but instead of using masonry nails I want to use plugs and screws so I've gone and bought uno plugs but can I use them as they have a lip on them so they might not go through the wood.
Just stick wallplug in hole, insert screw a couple of turns into plug & drive the lot in with hammer,as far as thickness of skirting, then screw rest of way, you might find it easier to slice top off wallplug , so no rim on wallplug with utility knife first.
I would use hammerfix - http://www.screwfix.com/p/fischer-nylon-hammerfix-6-x-60mm-50-pack/28374. Drill and CSK the skirting with 6mm, put in place and then use a 6mm masonry bit to drill the wall. With plugs, the hole in the wood will be on the large side for the screws
