Buying stock is NOT an " investment" Loz

    Why is it not?
If I purchased 100 ton of copper last year at £X amount and sell it for double £XX amount this year then that was an investment in my book.

Copper is a commodity and can be traded as such.

Normal stock most definitely is NOT a investment!

I do even better than that Plumes when I started out if customer needed a item I would buy two to get a better price. But charge my customer for both that way I built up a stock and got my money back. Oh and of course I got the extra item for my next customer requiring it! ;)

Oh HD commodity this commode that get a life just glad I don't buy from you.

How not? When I did such work, I had avan full of stock, but always marked up for profit. I had a great basic customer base, and never advertised. My clients were happy that I could do job on 1st visit. I despise those plumbers (?) you see at the TC drinking coffee, charging the 2 way trip (and coffee time) to buy a ball v alve. I carried pumps valves, and fans for a particular myson boiler, and changed at least one every week or so cos we had an estate full of the carp!
