I'm a useless nurse. Sad about you being ill. I will give pics but not for a few weeks Want you to be proud and I hope you will be I'm still here! I haven't ran!
Oooh lordy I'm not good with people being poorly. If your ever in bed for a while I would do crosswords with you Or scrabble? I'm good at scrabble? Reckon I'd even beat dev
You wouldn't beat Dev. He'd be demanding points for words like 'chust'. And 'botty'. Then he'd point you towards screwfix to prove it was a word in general use. Mr. HandyAndy - Really
Anyways, best way if you want advice is to put pics up now. ie before you finish the stuff and then be told 'you shoulda done it like this'. For example chess table. Is the table top the same size as chess board? If not, what will surrounding area be finished as? What border will the playing area have? Is the tabletop already painted flat colour? Picture says it all and advice can follow(not necessarily from me-I would hate to give opposing advice!!!) not really Mr. HandyAndy - Really
Sorry to hear about your stroke Astra, hope everything turn out well in the end, I know what you mean re: medication, I've been given 4 different types of antibiotics to try and cure my rash, it seem that they try the cheapest medication first, just to save a few quid. All the best for the future.
Don't say that you are not just a number to those who love you and you never will be! My nan just died at 92 and I loved her to bits never to be forgotten!!! She made the BEST homemade chips ever. Try as I do I just can't make them taste like hers did And she used to make me banana pudding.
Dev!!! I wrote a poem! I want you to read it I made it specially for you Took me ages so I hope you appreciate all the thought that went into it
And Andy pandy is still on my good guy list dev we sort of made up I think He blew me away on the tile thread so well I thought I'd give him another chance He tells quite good jokes as well sometimes! Did you read the one about the shell suit
I'm overwhelmed... Anyways, if you haven't done so already, I think it's really worth seeing what's already oot there - this sort of stuff has been done many times to very good effect, so it's worth looking and deciding what you think works best and going from there. A quick surf: http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2010/06/diy-chess-end-table/ http://justsomethingimade.com/2010/09/decorative-chess-sets/ http://www.chess.com/blog/PossibleOatmeal/dual-chessboard-project-diy Things that stick oot for me is that the 'normal' black & white squares prob isn't the way to go - for me the wood-stained squares and the 'Oxford' blue look far better. What'dya think? Also, don't try and do the whole table top unless it happens to be the right size - 2" squares seems to be about right. Add a border and then leave the rest of the table top untouched - that's where the captured chess pieces go.
