Does anyone know if Chint devices are compatible with any other board? IE will they fit an MK CU alongside MK breakers? Also, how do you rate Chint gear? Only used it once a few years ago in a small industrial unit and as far as I know it's still working and hasn't burnt down yet!

You will invalidate the type-testing of the assembly by mixing and matching devices. Use MK Sentry devices if it is an MK Sentry board.

I don't give a **** about that. It's my own house, not a customers, so I will have no nanny state telling me what I can do within my own CU :)

Chint are made by the same Chinese manufacturer as several other brands. Exact same size and shape <ahem> Wylex </ahem>, funnily enough. Oh, as are MK. And others...

Certainly not; MK is quite expensive.

Mind you, given the choice of Chint or Proteus ...
