Are you going to ask him to try and confirm the diagnosis of your existing fault first? It would be interesting to see what he arrives at. And he'd want to know before he fits a new boiler on a 'leaking' system anyway!

Rebel49, what was the result of all this? I'm having a similar problem with my Vaillant combi boiler right now and could use all the tried and tested ideas I can get, to help the engineer reach the right diagnosis and fix the thing permanently.
