    Hi all,
I have a concrete floor to tile with ceramic tiles but the concrete looks very dusty and loose.
The conceret floor was laid in the summer so it may have dried too quick.
What is best to treat the surface before I start tiling:
    Concrete hardener/dustpoofer
    SBR
    PVA (HA HA!!!)
    Tiling primer
    Any others.
    Cheers

  2. It all depends on how dusty it is - is it chust 'dusty', or can you scrape away the top few mm quite easily?

Everbuild, for example, make a good concrete floor stabiliser/sealer; check out their CHD5L 403 (sounds ideal for you).

If it's really crumbly, tho', I wonder if all that loose stuff should be scraped off? Yuck.

    Hopefully not.

Then check to see if a tiling adhesive primer needs to be painted over that.

A good sweep then wet the floor before tiling, not soaking wet just damp.

Remove loose stuff, then assess how bad it is. May need acrylic priming, then self levelling.

    Thanks for the reply guys,
I will try the Everbuild CHD5L 403 and go from there.
    Cheers
