Hi, have put up a new cooker hood with lights and fan. Cable from hood has a L N SL. Trying to connect to a fcu but how to connect to L N E ??? Hood came with 3 way connecting block, where does the SL wire go and what do I do with the earth from the fcu ??

What you have is Line Neutral and Switched Live.
It could be that the fan has an over run facility so that after switching off the fan continues to run for a set time?
Or it could be that the SL is to control the light in the hood separately from the fan?
Perhaps the light is only intended to be on when other lights in the kitchen are on?
Simplest solution is just to terminate both the Line and Switched Live in the same connection at the FCU.
The lack of earth, suggests that the hood is double insulated.
What colour are the wires in the cable from the hood?
