    Hi

Just need a quick bit of advice on what you guys would recommend?

Would you tile the splash back first then drop the cooker on to the top of them? or install the cooker hood first then get the tiler to tile upto it?

Or does it matter either way?

    Thanks in advance

It depends...on the hood, tiles and where/how they meeting. Probably tile first then hood.

Is this a canopy hood ?
If it is, fit the hood first then take it down leaving the fixing screws in position but sticking out of the wall an inch or so. The tiler can then tile around the screws (which is easy to do) and you can then fit the hood back up easily as well. Win win for both of you.

Quick update...the cooker hood is the curved type and also there are no units at all going on that wall.

So would you tile up to the cooker hood and have the cut the tiles to suit the curve of the cooker hood.

    Thanks

  6. Tile it all first.

    Then stick yer 'ood up.

(How is power going to get to it? Where's the FSU going? Make sure any hidden/buried cables 'conform'.)

    So the consensus is...tile first.

I alway have switch at worktop height which feeds to a single socket up at cooker hood, usually behind ducting.

  9. Pffft - mine's just as easy to get to; remove the gas rings in case they get damaged, grab a foot stool, climb on to...
