Does anyone know whether a handleless bifold door on a corner kitchen unit will leave a gap at the top of the doors where the corner meets? we have had 2 doors fitted which dont fit properly at the moment but we dont like the shape of the doors in the corner where they meet as it spoils the clean line of the handleless units. We have asked for a bifold door instead but have been told that this will leave a gap at the top of the doors where the corner meets and we will be able to see through into the unit. Is this true?
Yes, it is true and is just a fact you have to get used to if you wan't a bi-fold 900x900 corner base. It's just more visable if you have handleless doors. One of the suppliers we use sell 930x930 corner bases, they use a handleless corner post so there is no gap. These doors though are not bi-fold and never could be.
Thanks for your reply. We didnt actually ask for this unit, the carousel was put in as an alternative to what we wanted. we cant have a corner post because of the carousel. very frustrating!
The corner post i referred to is fixed to one of the doors, so it allows full access to a carousel, or shelf.
Not with all makes IKEA supply a piece that fits into the cabinet to blank it off. You could probably do something similar if you wanted.
ah, that makes sense...thanks very much. I think you have just solved our dilemna Thanks Craig. We are going to ask the fitter to attach a corner piece for sure
