    Walls plastered, not by me!

Few cracks appeared. raked them out and filled with Easi-fill. Sanded. All smooth.

Mist coated walls. Twice in all.

This morning cracks have opened up! Help!

I have raked them out again and filled. What next? Only thin cracks.

How old is your house, you sometimes seem the gypsum plaster skim coat crack when you applie it over old lime base plaster.

No, it been applied on new plasterboard. No seams behind! Builders were idiots anyway. Having re-filled this morning will it come back as i want to paint the room now.

You shouldn't get cracking, crazing, when you plaster plasterboard, other than joints that are not taped, plasterboard can shrink if it's got damp & as it dried out can cause problems, but you seldom see it.
Old plaster can cause problems, drying too quickly, resulting cracking, etc.

Ok, strange. There is a rad below the area.

Anything i can do now to stop it appearing again? Its only a few long extremely thin cracks!

Drying out plaster too quickly in that area compare to the plaster of the surrounding area.
You will get shrinkage... & CRACKS:) as a result.:)

I initially thought it might have been the mist coat affecting the filler by wetting the filler and then drying quickly.

Wouldn't think so, once filler dry, it's dry, so can be painted.

It was bone dry and smooth when i put the mist coat on though.

Do you think i should put pva on the filler now that it is smoothed down? Would that help it stop cracking again? Not planning to paint that wall until tomorrow or maybe sunday. Ta
