Hi, We had our new fridge stored away and unfortunately the electric cable was left underneath the leg of a very heavy table, so it has been crushed for 3 or 4 months now. Could this have affected the wires inside and may cause the appliance to fail later on, assuming it does work (have not tested it yet). Or is the cable quite strong and able to withstand heavy crushing?
The right way is to renew the cable(maybe damaged). If it's near the plug end, cut the dint and rewire the plug(maybe too short). Mr. HandyAndy - Really
If you don't want to get involved in taking the fridge back off and rewiring the flex completely, you could use one of these: http://www.screwfix.com/p/teetube-ip68-3-pole-mini-in-line-cable-joint/81353 They're a bit of a lump, but it may be able to be tucked away out of sight?
