Hi all, my parents have just moved into a new property and are in the process of having a lot of work done. Could anyone advise me of a joiners daily rate? They are elderly & aren't loaded so trying to get some ideas on prices so they don't get ripped off.
    Thanks

Depends what they're having done...you could pay a numpty £50 a day and get a shoddy job that takes 5times as long and end up paying over the odds anyway, or you could pay a specialist joiner £300 a day for him to make a beautiful cupboard that takes him a week and still have paid well over the top as you wanted a general Chippy rather than a joiner...I guess you either need to hunt around for a few prices to get an idea what people want for the work or you ask friends for someone they trust

Rates vary depending on what you would like doing, here on the south east coast ballpark figure would be £160-----£250 per day.

The work that is required is a new kitchen which they have sorted with B&Q. New Windows & internal doors. Oak staircase & repairs to an orangery.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I'm quite happy given what you have all said that paying 160 a day is a fair price. Thanks again
