Started on this in August and now, mid November its (nearly) finished. had lots of help from brother in law's supply & fit french doors, and laying the flooring... should be finished before xmas
so what did we start with .... 30 year old aluminum sliding doors with rotten wooden surrounds .. Brother in law prepping the area... plasterer weighing up what needs doing... Pvc frame goes in ...
Stripping ceiling and coving ready for re plaster ceiling and walls skimmed on with the woodwork .. stripping paint ..
Those hideous fake leaded patio doors really made the room dark, you wouldn't think changing them could make such a improvement to a room. And that ceiling, much better without the wallpaper. Only thing I would have done, is put some skirting around the boxing in, makes it look neater & finished. Great job, gives inspiration to others on this forum, what can be achieved with a little planning.
Totally agree with KIAB - these ali doors were hellsih! What a transformation - cracking job. Yep, I love threads like these
Until you mentioned it I hadn't even considered it ... I guess there is an element of swept under the carpe . Good job the unit covers it
