Just waiting on solicitor now to see what is happening as wife is not saying anything.

I cut the back hedge today and filled in some cracks in some plaster work ready to paint as i want the house looking good if it goes on the market, which, i hope won't be too long as summer is here and this is the best time to sell. Wife has stated that the house now has to be sold. My solicitor only works 3 days a week.

Any good advice from divorced people will be very welcome as i have never gone it alone! Left my parents to live with wife (lived in sin for 5 years before we wed). I was 24 when we bought our very first house.

I dont want to buy a flat as i probably would not be able to afford the maintenance fees plus all those neighbours living below, above, left and right would drive me potty! :p

Think i will be looking for a max 2 bed property as i only need 2 beds. 1 for daughter 1 for me.

We only moved last september and now looks like we will have to go through it all again! Yikes!

Wife agreed tonight that house and savings be split 50/50.

Signed some documents that my solicitor emailed me and scanned and emailed them back. I told my solicitor that i wanted all correspondence / letters etc via email. She agreed.

When it's over book yourself nice holiday maybe Thailand!!! Come back refreshed

  5. That's a great outcome, Kools.

Hopefully it comes to simply acceptance by your wife of what's fair and right.

If this also means that you can both continue to be civil to each other after the event, then that's the best possible outcome.

Divorce is never a good thing, but it doesn't have to be hellish.
