diy bed and headboard

    I feel mean now :( sorry op. Its erm :oops: well, its nice and clean :) that's always a bonus! I'm sure its all very trendy and modern, its just not for me. I'm more for comfort now I'm getting on a bit. Squishy sofas and comfy throws :rolleyes: and I'm very minimal, I don't like too much going on. Couple of books, a rug, TV and a plant in the corner and I'm done ;)

    The purpose of slats is to allow the mattress to breathe as well as providing a springy feel, otherwise there wont be good supply of ventilation.

    As mattresses can get moist over time.

    Thanks for the replies and I've taken them into consideration but what about divan beds? They don't have slats? Surely the major manufacturers wouldn't make divans if they wasn't up to scratch?
