My understanding, is that to comply, the board must be made of a non-combustible material.
Not aware of any requirements regarding up or down lids.
Though I have heard that the lids should hinge up so the fall down to cover the MCB/RCBOs.

Meter boards should be treated with fire retardant irrespective of whether the board is metal or plastic.
    Though not covered by BS7671.

I've just fitted an AMD 3 BG cu. Seemed like nice kit, as good as a Wylex metal cu I fitted a few years back.

As mentioned in another thread I had few faulty RCDs a year or two ago but everything else is great about them.

I see MK have a recall on RCBOs at the moment as well, so not unique to BG

I laugh every time someone mentions MK, I've never been into sport, tbh I can't stand it,exercise is fine for other people.lol
Well quite a few years back someone was on about football and mentioned that the MK Dons were doing quite well, having electrical things on my mind at the time I replied "well I never knew that, fancy an electrical manufacturer owning a football team". doh!

You need to buy an old wylex board from Ebay and replace the fuses with nails. Sorted!!!!
