Background story: door was locked from the inside and key left in and then the door was opened from the outside resulting in a misaligned cam that sits at 1 o'clock. The key will only come out when the door is unlocked but won't release when locked.

I've purchased a new cylinder of the same size. It will go through the door but won't come out the other side. I've tried putting it through both sides of the door and same problem. It won't come out the other side.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Any help much appreciated!thanks

Probably need to put key in cylinder, turn and wiggle it through.

Tried that but it doesn't seem to want to budge.

It's only about 1mm out when going through to the other side. Not sure why though. The old cylinder goes through fine although it is a different brand.

Try slackening off the handles a tad...

Remove handles, fit lock, replace handles.

    Thankyou!

Slackened the handle enough to get it into the right position, put in the holding screw then tightened handle again.

    Cheers
