Previously put a post up about fire doors.
    And had some good knowledge.

But I have a new question upon measuring the thickness of doors.

They are 44mm thick so am I right in saying they should be fitted with a leading edge of say 5 degrees. Probably why some struggle to close etc.

Is that standard fitting on site. They are bound to bind in timber frame move etc. So just wandering if anyone fits these.

Sometimes it depends on whether you have a plain intumescent strip or a brush, I always do a slightly bigger leading edge for a brush then for plain, never measured the angle though

    Yes Paulie

What's happend is over the years spec has changed and wanted to replace with brush so the margins change.

Are you using a plane to do a leading edge.

I was thinking of using the ts55 and using it ok angle. Hmm

Depends on tools I have out, but yeah generally an electric plane or hand plane although I have also used my rail saw
The brush is a fire/ smoke seal whereas the plain in a fire seal where intumescent has changed is its gone from 10mm to 15mm gor 1/2 hr and 20mm to 25mm for 1 hr rating
