Hi All, I need to fit a basin unit to a wall, weight is about 35kg. The unit came with fixings for a solid wall and no instructions on how to fix to a stud wall. I have checked and the mounting brackets do not line up with any of the studs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Syd.
Metal dryline fixings is your best way forward, as you will have wash basin pedestal to fit under the wash basin. Something like this should do the job - http://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-self-drill-plasterboard-fixing-metal-32mm-pack-of-100/81139 do not go for plastic.
The unit is a wall hung unit, so does not have a pedestal to take the weight. Similar to this one here. http://www.betterbathrooms.com/bath...re/aspen-75cm-wall-mounted-white-vanity-unit/
Then for a dryline wall, got 2 options, 1) order some Snaptoggle, as these can take up to 100kgs depending on drywall thickness and M size. 2) cut away the plasterboard and install noggins at the correct wash basin height
Cut noggins in the wall, do not use fixings as they won't work for long. People will be leaning on the basin and one day it will end up in the floor
i mounted a small washroom basin buy replacing the area of plasterboard with marine ply bridging the studs either side of the basin. Then just bolted through the ply.
