Is there an alternative method to fix a wall plate to a facing brick wall rather than use metal strapping.
And bolts directly into the brick/block work isn't the best especially if the wall plate spans the cavity. These used to be popular on some builds and used to run inside the cavity
On a flat roof yes it is more so, but on a pitched roof it would try and push the plate off the wall.
Never seen them before, but then again I've only ever seen a wall plate on the inner skin of block/brick work.
Have I got the wrong end of the stick? I'm thinking he wants to fix a timber to the face of the wall?
