    Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster.
I have a question on flat roof designs. I have a 5x6 metre cabin that I am to design. Client thinks he can run 1 x c16 (75x195) down the centre - a 6 metre span - and have ~2.5 metre nogins coming off it onto the bearers. To me this sounds like it would fall down if you breathed on it, never mind snow loading ! Am I right ?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Sam

If he thinks it let him do it. Wouldn't be putting my name to that one. Show him span tables, if he doesn't agree walk away.

  3. And by 'flat roof' he surely does intend to have some fall?

'Cos as that flat roof sags in t'middle, it'll be holding a fair quant of water...
