Hi. Just had some new french doors fitted and they have fitted the glass. The glass fitted in the rhs door at the bottom I can see what looks like a metal spring and the fitter has put some silicone near that area. Is this ok as I cannot see the springs anywhere else.
    Thanks

Sounds wrong to me. Any picture?

There should be no reason whatsoever to have any silicone anywhere near the glass itself.

Thanks for responding tried uploading a photo but won't work. Didn't think it was right especially when I can see some sort of clip in between the glass pieces.

    Some more information needed.

It sounds like these are timber doors. Is there an external timber bead or is it putty bead?

Is the glazing double or single.

Many fitters used tape to secure the glass to the fixed section of the frame.

The springs you mention, could be sprigs - which are little nail clips.
