I been told i may have to get a Gas Safety certificate as i we are selling our house.

What am i to look for and what is the general cost of these?

I have had no Gas work carried out but the buyers solicitor has asked for one.

Have you had your appliances serviced on a regular basis IE every year?
If not then you need to get them done as part of the sale.
Cant give you a price on here as it will depend upon which part of the country you live.
Go onto the Gas Safe web site and use the find an installer function get a few prices from your local guys.
Tip for the future, get your gas appliances serviced annually

British Gas have serviced our Boiler yearly. Gas Hob, no.

British Gas do the certificate for £75 apparently

When I had a boiler installed, was issued with a buildings compliance certificate, which meant that all the work was carried out.

Is the certificate your referring to a CP12?

If you have the boiler installation handbook, there is a service record in there, so you can get it signed off every year, bit like a car service stamp.

That's a landlords gas safety certificate, also know as the CP12

You could just use a gas safe engineer to carry out this for about £45-60 (this wouldn't include a service of the boiler, if one was due).
