Hi I have used International Cupboard Satin Paint - Brilliant White with great performance on cupboards, doors, furniture etc. Its solvent based, tough with good coverage, flow, nice satin, good adhesion and brush or mini roller ok. Sadly it seems to be completely discontinued [except for a few odd colours on ebay etc.] [unless someone knows different?] I have in the past tried dreadfull attempts at alternatives : Dulux cupboard paint - marrs and scuffs badly Dulux satin wood - yellows and is soft Wickies cupboard paint - poor finish [waterbased] Ronseal Cupboard paint - waterbased poor substitue and low coverage & expensive Anyone have a good recommendation for a solvent based white satin paint thats as good as the International product - for use on primed doors, cupboards , skirtings and frames etc. Happy to buy larger tin and from trade range but would need much convincing about waterborne as all the ones I've tried have been XXXX
I have been using Quick Drying Dulux Diamond Satinwood for several years and over those years have treated it with mixed reviews, late last year it appears it was reformulated and I can only say it's now superb, good opacity, thicker and dry's to a very good finish applied with a mohair roller and laid off with a Purdy Monarch. Good preparation is the key. As for solvent paint take your pick at a diminished market place.
Thanks for your replies To be sure is the name "Dulux trade diamond satinwood" or is quick drying part of name ? Is this it : http://www.duluxtradepaintexpert.co.uk/products/picker#details/dulux-trade/diamond-satinwood
I've been using this solvent based, white satin on some outside timber; http://www.duluxdecoratorcentre.co....LGMJrsVXFTEXr2xeM3PkkY8eu7tJxAiT7xCGbCMIWdaMB Really nice to use, flows out superb, looks glossy when first applied but dries satin Like a lot of solvent paints, even when touch dry, they continue to cure and harden, sometimes over several weeks Highly recommended
