Apply masking tape along the cutting line for a little bit of extra strength as may help avoid any splitting.

Main thing is to fully support the panel whilst cutting and stop it waggling about. A 2nd pair of hands here is very helpful to hold the panel steady. Hacksaw blade or fine blade on a multi tool works well

Does the panel need cutting down along its length or width ?
