I would really appreciate any advice. I have 3 bed semi-detached house. Originally, it was pebble dashed. We had this removed and rendered and painted about 25 years ago. In case it's relevant, there are no cavity walls. There are now cracks and about three years ago, I had the cracks repaired and the house repainted. The builder, who has now moved, was very honest about the limitations of this and that the cracks could reappear, which some have.

Also, the repairs, despite the whole house painting are very evident. When the sun is shining the house has a crazy paving effect - looks odd! I know the best thing would be to have the whole lot taken off and redone, but I've got a few health issues and can't face the disruption.

I wondered if there is any way of putting mesh on and sort of skimming? I think the render is reasonably sound. IF this is not a stupid idea, what is this called and who would do it? I live on Essex/East London borders. Would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

...just to clarify, when I ask who would do it, I meant what trade should I be asking. Thanks.

Do you have any pictures you can post up to give us a better idea of your issue please? You would need a good plasterer with rendering experience, regardless.

Thank you - that really is the information I needed! Think it is something someone needs to stand in front of and assess - but wasn't sure if this would be a painter or plasterer or other specialism. Now I know who to look for. Very grateful.
