Looking to replace a blown lamp in a light fitting. All it says is SON lamps marked with an 'E' This is the one I replaced with, went into electrical wholesalers and said there are internal and external ones and those with 'internal lighter' The old lamp had no markings. Will this work? Should know by tommorw
The E in the triangle means that you need a lamp that needs an external igniter. If the lamp has got a triangle with an I that means internal igniter. Looks like you have the wrong type of lamp.
Will this one work? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osram-Via...795683?hash=item33b576d3e3:g:1tYAAOSwYmZXEQEE The electrical wholesale said they only have 'internal ones'
Yes the E in the triangle means external igniter which is what it says on your fitting. The Son-E means the lamp is eliptical.
Concur. You get SON-E and SON-T, the E and T being the shape, elliptical and tubular. Yours is elliptical, so SON-E. You then get internal and external igniter. Internal igniters are in the lamp, and visible in the base. External igniters are in the fitting. An I in a triangle on the lamp means the lamp has an igniter. You have the wrong lamp. Wattage is also important.
