Did a job yesterday that required splitting tails. So I got my Newlec DP 5-way "Henley" block and stripped it down, adjusted screw terminals to accept tails, prepared the holes for the tails, prepared the new tails and screwed them in to the block. No worries. Then I snipped the seal and pulled the fuse. Was sweating like a pig. God I've cut the seal. ****. Anyway. Cut through the tails and proceeded to terminate. Did the phase tails first. Easy peasy. Henley block nice and firm on the wall. Tails nice and firm. Neutrals were similar. Newlec block has the neutral "case" taht separates fgrom the main block. So I terminaed all the newts. Then I offered up the neutral to the block. Pushed it in as it was a bit awkward. Crack. The fecking side broke off. The air was blue. I was raging mad. What the **** do they make these things with. Fecking pastry? Then I screwed the lid back on. Twang. One of the screws pulled out the hole. The air was purple. ****. It just came straight out. Newey were the bottom of the lowest pile of everything I could could think of. The only option. Insulation tape. Taped the whole thing up. From now on SINGLE POLE henleys and definitely NOT non-Henley brands. Might look the part but **** me. UP
I feel for your UP. Reminds me of when i worked for council and there was a bad batch of bakerlite 1g boxes going round, about 5 times i hadc connected up the spur, come to screw it back and... there was no lug on one side of the box...:-(
