    Hi Guys,

    I have just had a concrete raft slab laid as the foundation for my new conservatory.

    The slab is approx 215mm thick on top of MOT type 1

    Slab was a ready mix of RC35 and reinforced with A142 and some 12mm Rebar

    Couple of questions for you;

    I protected the concrete from rain with a large Tarp tented over the top

    How long does the concrete need to be protected?

    and How long before I can build up to DPC level? (4 brick courses)

    Many Thanks

    You will be ok to lay bricks the day after pouring the foundations. In this cold weather keep the work covered for overnight (and by day if freezing / snow) for about 3 days.

    Keep all subsequent work covered for three days.
