Dug my trench for a small footing to build a dwarf wall, for a garden patio.

    22M x 0.35 wide x 0.25 Deep works out @ 1.925 (Lets say 2) CubMt

Going on the theory that 1.76 tonnes per cubic metre (Of which I have read online..?)
I will need 3.5 Bulk bags?

Is this correct? It seems a hell of a lot to me.

Any one have any other calculations in comparison?

    Thanks.

I calculate it to be 3.5 tonne. Remember you don't actually get a tonne in a bag.

Good point - They estimate a tonne bag to hold 0.75 - 0.8 in Volume.

On this basis then 4 bags should be about the correct amount.

4 jumbo bags of ballast and 23 bags of cement should do you, assuming your 0.25 depth is the depth of concrete and not the trench.

    1 in 4 mix or 1 in 5?
