Not the spider which looks like it died peacefully, but the socket of course! ;)

Funnily enough "nettle" were around at about the same time, they were made by GKN I believe,as well as being used in houses they were also used on the "Roverpoint" extension lead, which iirc was the first enclosed reel type extension lead, blue housing with orange cable.

I vaguely remember that Nettle stuff and Fats sockets - it all use to get chucked in the bin on rewires.

I pulled out some old 1970's Ashley stuff from one of my projects a couple of years back. Also there were some quick nice ceiling roses but I can't find the pics. All of it still in working order.

Also most of the cable was the stranded type, really nice quality, could really pull it about. Much better than the wafer thin rubbish you get these days. Weighed it all in eventually.

All these posts and nobody's noticed the major problem, lol. If the IP rating had been correct then that poor spider would not have died needlessly leaving it's wife and kids to fend for themselves.aaaawww.
