    Looking for some advice
I am hoping you can help me with the following problem.

My Daughter lives in a Barratt's home in Abercarn S.Wales.
The shower is dripping and I believe I need to change the cartridge.

I have found replacement cartridges on the internet but I need to decide whether I need a HP or LP unit.
Is there anything that may indicate which shower type (HP or LP) would have been fitted on this estate back in 2006.
If not, is there something I can check to decide which type it is.

Barratt were unable to help us.

What would be the consequences of fitting the wrong type?

Thanks in anticipation of some advice.

One is high pressure the other is low pressure.
Has your daughter got a high pressure system (combi boiler, unvented cylinder or pumped) or is it just a gravity system from loft tank.

Thanks Plumber-boy, I'll have to have a look next time I am over there. I don't think it is gravity fed from loft. Is there a giveaway when I look at the storage tank in the airing cupboard? (I guess this rules out Combi?)

If it's an unvented cylinder it will tell you on the cylinder and they look different to a standard cylinder.

Biggest giveaway is are there any tanks in the loft?

Here's some pics of the hot water storage unit.
I guess I need the High Pressure cartridge?

Difficult to tell from the photo but that tundish looks to be more than 600mm from the PRV.
Don't lose any sleep RLMTS just me being picky.

    What does that mean Dave?

The maximum distance allowed for your D1 pipe (thats the pipe from the PRV to the tundish) is 600mm bizarrely 500mm in Scotland.
This is to prevent it spilling all over the floor and a potential risk of scalding to anyone in the vicinity if it should activate.
But like I said don't lose any sleep over it as its hard to tell from a photo.
