some people are aware that corgi registerd guys have a id card and no its not going to stop it totally but it will make it harder.

totally agree Betty but with an ID card to back up your certs and registration, the word will spread.
It's not just ID cards, but the public needs realistic guidelines on what to be charged... Anything over £40 per hour is ridiculous (that includes you BT & British Gas)
Not sure I like the idea. Gas yes because it's illegal to work on gas without CORGI but working on electricity is perfectly legal wihout any qualifications or scheme membership so isn't there a danger that an ID scheme could push the smaller electrician out? I think anything that helps promote the industry is good though.
