That program was on last night and the girl had been held captive for about 15 days and was beaten within an inch of her life with a base ball bat.

The guy decided to do some travelling by airplane and the girl during her interview for the program was upset because no one said anything despite her face being black and blue.

She was frisked by airport security and was in safe hands at that point but said nothing.
It was as if her own mind was complicit in ensuring her life would remain at risk.

    Can people be that stupid?

Not sure what channel JJ. Sorry. Somewhere in the first 20 though if that's any help.

  4. How can you watch such a dramatic, harrowing doc, Ryluer, and come to such a simplistic conclusion?

    Complicit ma botty.

Just watched that episode of "I survived evil"... Very disturbing viewing indeed! :(

Knowing how strong a master "fear" can be... I'd suggest the victim was driven to being 'complicit' only due to the prior conditioning she was exposed to and that leading to her belief of her father, mother and younger sister suffering horrendous torture and death if she refused to comply.

Her knowing the abusers brother was aware of and approved of her injuries, that his girlfriend did nowt to help her other than advise she run away before she was killed, would have undoubtedly reinforced her worst fears and planted the seed of harm being inflicted on her loved ones by the potentially complicit brother even if she'd screamed for help at the airport.

We all have breaking points!... The victim broke and ran for her life, all or nothing, do or die!... I'd dare suggest if the detective assigned to that case hadn't been involved in investigating the same psychopathic abuser for very same offences then the outcome may have been very tragically different.

It leaves me wondering... What course of action us forum users would have taken had we seen the battered victim at a blackjack table in Vegas!?!... Any thoughts anyone?

Well I remember the film Casino where Joe Pesci had a guys head in a vice, so for me I'd just mind my own business. Unless of course she asked me for help.

When the girl was at the airport, had she raised the alarm the evil guy and his evil brother would have been arrested and her family would have been safe.
Seems bizarre that she didn't and her family were left in danger.
Yet she still felt obliged to complain that no one offered her any help.

Beverly Allitt on last night on evil up close.
She was released from police custody, suspended from work and went to live with a grandmother, another person and a small girl and their dog if I remember correctly.
Within days she had laced their food with poison. She even did the dog.
    Hope she rots in jail.
