Ideas on finishing off side of garden

Im pretty disappointed with this side of the house, would have preferred the wall be closed to the footpath and run right up to the front of the house but it cant come out anymore as it would restrict the view of the neighbour at the back of me. So will have to make do with whats here.

The grass sloped down, thats why some of the wall is missing plaster. It looks real messy with it sloping down.

I think stoning it will be the best bet with a couple of shrubs within the stones.

Im after some advice on how to separate the grass bank and the flat section where the stones will be.

Im thinking either a step or some sort of mini wall being built...

Any ideas folks...?
