Everyone always says "you can find anything on the internet" well I can't! It's my 51st birthday in 2 weeks and I've decided I want a leather jacket, maybe it's a mid life thing who knows? All I want is a black leather bikers tassel jacket like the one I had years ago,it was the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. Can I find one locally? NO! I don't want to take pot luck and order one off fleabay,I want to hold it,smell it,wear it,then if it's right buy it. Surely it can't be that hard? Wrong,I've spent ages looking on the net and can't find anything listed in my area, all I get is those stupid sites that give you phone numbers for places that turn out to be miles away.Oh well, never mind I'll get over it.
Black leather bikers tassel jacket. You don't see them much in the 21st century... This. https://www.lewisleathers.com/productinfo.html?code=jak-393
I will post a few cheaper links when I home later. What sort of budget, my last leather jacket was just short of £300.
It is a Lewis though, possibly the best on the market. But let's get back to the fact you want a jacket with tassels, I'm 54 and don't recall tassels in my day. By the way I've still got the leather I bought from Carnaby Street when I was 20. I'll dig it out a post a pic, its in a right state, but will never get rid.
They are known as Fringed jackets not tasseled jackets. http://www.bikersparadise.co.uk/Mens-Elite-Fringed-Classic-Motorcycle-Jacket.html http://www.oceanicleathers.co.uk/product.php/6182802/ http://www.bikersparadise.co.uk/Mens-Leather-Motorcycle-Jackets.html
Needs a dose of leather oil/leather conditioner to restore it, clean it. Trinova leather conditioner & restorer is very good.
Restore it!!!!!!!!!!! What would I want to do that for, its is what it is, a very lived in part of my life, if that jacket could talk, I'd be in all sorts of trouble.
We used to put something called petuli oil on them, never forget the smell, I wonder what happened to the sleeveless denim I wore over it?it was covered in badges from various heavy metal bands. Happy days lol
Notice the badges on mine, some top bands there. My friend of old always used Patchouli Oil, bit of a Hippy thing really.
Ah! patchouli oil takes me back to my younger days, very difficult to get proper patchouli oil today. http://www.newrockbristol.co.uk/products/80s-metal-patchouli-oil
Bought some a few years ago, it has to go off for a few days before the smell is proper, the wife hated it.mind you, you can tell who's used it, I couldn't remember the exact spelling but you lads knew what it was.
Ooh stop it,I'll be looking for a studded belt next, iirc they were classed as an offensive weapon if they had more than 300 studs, mine had 254.
